Reese Witherspoon began seriously pursuing her acting career after first attending Stanford University. In her early career, she had parts in films like Pleasantville or Election. It was Elle Woods' portrayal in Legally Blonde which marked a major pivotal moment in her career. The role of Reese Witherspoon on Walk the Line earned her an Academy Award nomination in 2005. The most recent movies also include Water for Elephants This Means War and Wild with which she won another Oscar nomination. She also briefly took a class in English literature in Stanford University before deciding to go back to work.
